The fruit of the olive is usually harvested in November from the olive groves. It is a very tedious and demanding and time-consuming activity where many people have to work together to get to an end.
Its branches are combed with a rake, to drop the fruit. Another way is to push large wooden sticks.
Τhere are also modern mechanical ways, such as saws and special machines that pick up the fruit from the cut branches.
Under the trees, huge cloths are placed, to gather the precious fruit there.
Then they are packed in bags and led to the mill where they melt and get the oil.
